In legend, bears were once a Cherokee clan. They are our relatives. This ornament's design recognizes that by having a bear (Yonah) layered over the colors of the Circle of Life passing through the Four Directions. These symbols have deep roots in Cherokee Indian lore. Yellow, Red, Black, and White are traditional Sacred Colors. On the back of the ornament is the Cherokee pronunciation for bear "Yonah" and the word bear in Cherokee letters.
