Story Behind the Cat I don’t know how this keeps happening, but every time I sit down to design something, the Cheshire Cat sneaks in like it owns the place. I could be working on a serious Pacific Northwest mountain scene, and suddenly—boom—there’s a grinning cat peeking out from behind a Douglas Fir like it’s been there all along. This new version? Honestly, it wasn’t even planned. I was halfway through another design, and the Cat just sort of… appeared. Like it was whispering, “You’re not done until I’m here, human.” And because I’m not brave enough to argue with a neon-pink, smiling cryptid with questionable motives, I let it stay. The Cheshire Cat has become my design world’s permanent roommate. No matter what else I make, it finds a way into the inventory—like glitter at a craft store or pine needles in your socks after a hike. You don’t ask why. You just accept it. So here it is: my newest take on this mischievous staple. Because let’s be honest, if I didn’t include it, the Cat would probably haunt me until I did.
