Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room Stencil Doormat

Elegant doormat adorned with a representation of the Chicago Stock Exchange Trading Room stencil. The stencil features fifty-two hues in muted tones of rust, gold, green and yellow and represents stylized organic patterns of roots, branches and leaves. ❀❀❀ The trading room was the centerpiece of Chicago Architects Adler & Sullivan's 1893-94 Chicago Stock Exchange building. The 13-story building was a Chicago treasure that was, unfortunately, torn down in the 1970s. However, preservationists were able to save many notable parts of the structure and artifacts. The trading room was re-created and is viewable in the Chicago Art Institute along with the monumental arched building entry facade and several smaller fragments and artifacts. The stencil is part of the Art Institute of Chicago's collection.
