Choosing Her Man by American Painter George Brown Petty IV (1894 - 1975); Magazine Illustrator and Pinup Artist of the 1930s, 40s and 50s This is an elegant and glamorous art deco illustration of a young blonde woman (that appears to be Betty Davis), in two piece white silk evening dress that flow all the way to the floor trailing her feet by about a yard. The blouse like upper portion has a large and thick ring collar with a similar form along the bottom edge that loops at the center and fits just above the waist; with open shoulders on the sides, and long sleeves with cuffs that cover her hands. Attached to her hair is a very sheer and long kerchief that is multi-layered and reaches down to her thighs. Though her body is in a frontal view, her head is turned to the side with her left hand close to her face; while in her right hand is a portrait of a gentlemen she has selected from the four portraits that are hanging on the wall, with her face occupying the empty space. The background color is white, interrupted by a dark gray disc, that is composed of an inner white ring and outer black ring.
