Christian Fish (Ichthys) Symbol Doormat
This design features a traditional symbol of Christianity called the Ichthys, which is the Greek word for "fish" (ἰχθύς). The symbol consists of two intersecting arcs (curved lines): the ends at the right side extend beyond the point where they meet, resembling the profile of a fish. The symbol was adopted by early Christians as a secret symbol when they were persecuted. The symbol also makes reference to the Holy Eucharist and the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. It is now known colloquially as the "sign of the fish" or the "Jesus fish".
