This design features a painting by the Italian artist Erulo Eroli (1854–1916). It shows a young boy dressed as an angel to celebrate the Christmas season. The boy has a golden halo around his head, to make him look even more angelic. His eyes are looking upwards towards heaven. There are white and blue flowers in his hair. The boy is wearing a white cloak and he has both of his arms crossed over his chest, to symbolize his religious faith and devotion. He is a true angel. The original artwork was painted circa 1895.

I love the pattern, but it is much browner in person than the photo. Also after washing the back fabric shrinks more than the front fabric so the placemat is uneven. The printing is great except for the color which is much browner.
