Cimaruta Silver Plated Necklace

The cimaruta (pronounced chee-mah-roo-tah) is an old Italian folk magic and witchcraft charm believed to ward off the evil eye. The central element of the name of this amulet cimaruta means a "sprig of rue" and that's what it is. The sprig bears many magical charms and symbols of protection, magic, and the craft of the witch. Traditionally a silver cimaruta with details on both the front and back is worn by practitioners of Stregheria. (Italian Witchcraft Tradition) This one is hand drawn by me.
