From a old French-language book on military uniforms, and described as (excuse my poor French) as ‘These men belong to a ragged army. The Army of Italy lifted by Bonaparte.’ The date shown is 1796, but the print is cited as being from 1830. Whatever the date, the image looks fantastic on all kinds of EVERYTHING. Wanna see more old?
