Clan Name T-shirt

Border Reivers were raiders along the Anglo-Scottish border from the late 13th century to the beginning of the 17th century. They included both Scottish and English families, and they raided the entire border country known as the Debateable lands between Scotland and England. The name Reiver refers to bandit or robber and the families were famed for raiding and castle rustling. Border reivers were used as mercenary soldiers and light cavalry. They played key roles in the battles at Flodden and Solway Moss. This original watercolour of a Reiver was inspired by the Border Reiver statue in Carlisle England.
