Claude Monet - Field of Tulips in Holland Golf Head Cover

Field of Tulips in Holland (Champs de tulipes en Hollande), 1886 - Claude Monet, oil on canvas. Claude Monet (Paris, 1840 - Giverny, 1926) was a French Impressionist painter. Monet returned to the Netherlands in spring 1886 after receiving an enthusiastic invitation to see the tulip fields north of The Hague. He found the subject dazzling and initially difficult to translate into paint. In this version, cultivated flower beds turn the flat Dutch landscape into broad bands of intense color. The painting was acquired directly from Monet around July 1886 by Winnaretta Singer, later Princess Edmond de Polignac. The work records a brief campaign that also influenced the way Monet later organized flower beds at Giverny.
