Coast Guard Station Miami Beach keeps a vigilant watch on Biscayne Bay, all points between Baker's Haulover Inlet and Caesars Creek, and out 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. The Station Miami Beach complement includes active duty and reserve men and women assigned to perform missions of Search and Rescue (SAR), Enforcement of Federal Laws and Treaties, Ports Waterways and Coastal Security, Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations (AMIO), and Environmental Protection. There area of responsibility with seven vessels: (2) 45' Response Boat-Medium (RB-M), (2) 33' Special Purpose Craft Law Enforcement (SPC-LE) and (3) 25' Response Boat Small (RB-S). The Station responds to approximately 300+ Search and Rescue cases per year.
