Coleridge "Love" Victorian Art Card

Coleridge "Love" Victorian Art Card

Card: "Love" (Samuel Taylor Coleridge), vintage art and historical poetry with a modern twist. A dashing young man serenades his beloved in this lovely Victorian illustration of 1846 by Daniel Maclise and F.P. Becker. The original black-and-white engraving is in the public domain, and I've remixed it with a modern twist by digitally hand-colouring it. To complement the enchanting imagery, I've incorporated a quotation from the beautiful 1799 poem Love by Samuel Taylor Coleridge: "She listened with a flitting blush,
with downcast eyes and modest grace; for well she knew, I could not choose
 but gaze upon her face.
I told her of the Knight that wore upon his shield a burning brand; and that for ten long years he wooed
 the Lady of the Land.
I told her how he pined: and ah! The deep, the low, the pleading tone with which I sang another's love,
 interpreted my own.
" This pretty card is perfect for the 21st-century lover of 19th-century art and poetry, on any occasion. Blank inside. Choose your card size above.

I love how my "Happy Pupcrossing!" postcard turned out! It's so pretty! Zazzle prints top notch postcards and greeting cards! This postcard is available in my online Zazzle shop without the text on it if you're not a Postcrosser. The easiest way to find my Zazzle shop is through my associate link which is located on the navigation bar of my artist website Ink Goes Wild Alaska. I earn a little extra profit when you use that link. Corinne Danzl Ink Goes Wild Alaska.
