Colorful Grizzly Bear Silhouette Postcard

The grizzly bear has relatives overseas in Asia, but they're a slightly different breed. This is a North American brown or North American Grizzly, whose range is currently in the far west and in the north, the province of British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories of Canada, throughout Alaska and in the northern United States. There are also subspecies of this large bear, including the recently extinct California grizzly. In the past grizzlies were killed by farmers, ranchers and hunters and the bear is on the endangered species list in several areas. Bears who live in coastal regions tend to be larger than inland grizzlies. Bear worship and the cult of Bear go back to prehistoric times. The Bear was feared and revered for its ferocious temper and massive strength. The spiritual meaning of the Bear includes passion, deep emotions, inner strength, longevity, wisdom, ancient knowledge, and balance of instinct and intellect. The bear is associated with both the Earth and the Sky. The constellation Ursa Major or the Great Bear is often seen on the starry nights.
