Common Raven by Audubon, Black Crow, Birdwatcher Button

The Raven was not just a character in an Edgar Allan Poe story but is an actual species of bird. The artwork of the Common Raven was painted by French artist and ornithologist, John James Audubon. While similar to a typical crow in North America, the Raven is significantly larger and has a much thicker bill. The Common Raven is mostly seen west of the Rocky Mountains and throughout most of Canada, although, there is a population in the Appalachian Mountain area in the east. They can also be found in much of Mexico, away from the Caribbean coast. An large, intelligent black bird that is seen by birders in many different habitats.
