    Composition II in Red Blue and Yellow (1930) Canvas Print

    Composition II, in red, blue and yellow is an oil paint on canvas by Piet Mondrian in 1930. It consists of an abstract composition, formed by several rectangles separated by horizontal and vertical black lines. Two thirds of the box, above the right, are occupied by a red square. The lower left corner contains a blue trim, and the lower right corner one yellow, smaller than the previous ones. The other rectangles are white. The technique used is quite complex. Piet Mondrian made an outline of the work with charcoal, then he stuck pieces of wallpaper; Add strips of adhesive tapes, paint and a little more carbon. Finally replacing all the elements by painting.

    The print was really like something that would be purchased in a gallery. One of the panels needed to be re-stretched but that’s easy. I did 4 panels which when hung together made one huge image. I then enhanced the canvas by painting over some areas.. and then used permanent markers. The result was a personalized artistic piece for a clients early modern home. This piece far exceeded my expectations. Will definitely go back and use this idea again. Exact representation of image sent. Be aware that photos have pixelated flaws... if these little dark specks aren’t cleaned up using common computer techniques, they will be represented in the final canvas print..... so go over the image and make sure all flaws have been erased prior to submitting it. The reproduction is exactly what you send.
