Corymbia ficifolia ‘Wildfire’ which is a grafted brightly flowering Australian gum tree canvas placemat. This flower was a gift from my wonderful neighbours garden in Gippsland, Victoria. I was hoping to paint it, but I only managed to take some photos and a couple of quick sketches. Before it died on me. Maybe next year? Would really brighten up a dining or kitchen table. I love the pattern, but it is much browner in person than the photo. Also after washing the back fabric shrinks more than the front fabric so the placemat is uneven. The printing is great except for the color which is much browner.
