There are many things, a fashion designer would say, that make a good graphic for use on shirts and other apparel. The most important one is novelty. The more interesting the graphic is to look at, the more likely people are to want to purchase the design. While fashion still maintains a certain amount of artistic integrity, the overall environment is overwhelmingly commercial, and styles are often based on what it is thought will sell well. This design, Crazy Horse, is one of those few designs that incorporate the commercial aspect of fashion with the important artistic component. It busier than many other similar designs, but it is eye catching, and it provokes comment and interest. These two things are also elements that a fashion expert would say makes a good graphic - attention getting and provocative. This graphic sports its own title in a box in the bottom right hand corner, while the dominating image is that of aside profile of some person (male or female, we do not know, for the figure is androgynous) who seems to be somewhat of a mix between an Indian chief and a face you might see wandering through a French cabaret. What on earth does that mean!? Simple - it means that the harness of sorts that graces the face of this profile as well as the feather like protrusion that springs from the forehead of the figure both signal an Indian element while the long, flowing hair and noble chin and nose make the figure seem like a high born French noble. This design is one of the few that seems to have the edge to compete with its many black and white contrasting images that seem to have overtake graphic apparel. It has a distinct flair, and its images are both trendy and modern without being flashy or preachy as some get. It is a cool design, stylish, but without pretension. It is indeed the last stand of this Indian chief as his wild, untamed spiritual power seems to flow into this Frenchman, creating a fusion of epic proportions. This quality can be seen quite easily by looking at the angle of the upturned face of the profile. It has its face raised skywards, as if beseeching some higher power or merely scanning the sky for some unknown enemy. Regardless, this graphic demonstrates the mixing ability that our society has the power to effect these days.
