Each design for TempleFest is made in a ritual fashion and also serves as an image or ‘ikon,’ a vessel through which you can connect with the spirits that work with us to make TempleFest such a special event. This year, we are offering a variation of the TempleFest design to those who are not able to attend. If you wish to use the design for meditation or journeying, here is an approach appropriate to Temple members of any level. If you wish to meditate or journey with the second image, speak first with the Horned One, for he is the guardian and opener of the way. In perfect Love and perfect Trust, create your sacred space, call whatever guides or guardians are most appropriate to you at this time, Count down from twelve to one. Gaze upon the image (front or back) until you have it clear in your mind. Close your eyes and continue to envision the image. Count down from thirteen to one, and commune with the image. When the time is right, give thanks and blessings, and return to your sacred space. Count up from thirteen, from twelve, and ground appropriately. On the front is a picture representing the God, the guardian of the way. His crystal skull may whisper or sing, of creation and destruction, of being and becoming. On his forehead is a symbol of the Temple of Witchcraft. He is one of the guardians of the Temple. Between his antlers shines the fire of creation, an ever opening rose with petals of flame. Upon the tips of His antlers are flames of wisdom, which may appear as guiding or guarding spirit. Though they may appear in, or as, darkness, you can recognize them by the light that shines from them. If you meditate or journey with this image, any one of them may come forth to speak with you, to share some wisdom. On the back is an image symbolizing the Goddess, She who was, is, who always shall be, the Weaver and the Web. The heptagram or seven pointed ‘faery’ star represents the weaving path of the planets, the cycle of days through the week, the seven directions (including above, below and center/within), the seven chakras and more. In Kabbalistic traditions, it is associated with the sphere of Venus and the power of Love. The circle extends in all directions. the wheel of fortune and fate. The blue rose is a symbol and a gift both to and from the Goddess. The God may show you the way, or the Goddess may reveal Herself. In perfect love and perfect trust Blessed Be!
