Personalized Custom Jigsaw Puzzles

Reaching this page and the guidelines below is probably the hardest part; getting to grips with our design tool, by comparison, is relatively easy. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to learn more about the process; as you work through point, we think you’ll um, get the picture.

• Step 1: Click on any blank puzzle template to open your canvas. There are eight to choose from, separated by size, number of pieces and, in one instance, material.
• Step 2: On the product page, confirm the size of your puzzle again by using the radio buttons. Depending on the size of the puzzle you choose, the price will increase or decrease, and this change is also indicated here.
• Step 3: Click on ‘Customize This Design’ to open the design tool. Here’s where you can input text, edit the background color, play with graphics and icons and – most importantly – upload a photo that we’ll shape into a puzzle (more on that later)!
• Step 4: Click on ‘Done’ to finalize your custom jigsaw puzzle and then on ‘Add to Cart’ to ready it for purchase. If there are any promo codes you’re entitled to use, then they’ll be visible in red on the product page; however, most promotions are automatically applied in your cart anyway.

Riddle me this: what Zazzle product can arrive perfectly intact, but still be in pieces? The answer has to be our puzzles, the easiest of which consists of 30 oversized chunks – for kids to hone their skills on – and the most difficult of which contains 1014 pieces, for puzzle aficionados. Most of our puzzles are printed on sturdy cardboard, which is then mounted on chipboard, and so they’re able to withstand even the most grueling of jigsaw-making sessions. The only exception to this is our ‘Acrylic Puzzle,’ which arrives in a tin box and has a water-resistant surface, making it even more durable than the others!

One of our customers’ most popular requests on Zazzle concerns how to make a custom puzzle from a photo. As should be clear from our design tool breakdown earlier, there’s no mystery around whether that can be accomplished: it’s quite easy to upload a photo from your desktop, phone or social media account, and you can even crop or filter it to create something unique. In terms of what picture to use, however – now that could be a conundrum. When it comes to photo puzzles, we’d recommend looking to our Independent Creators’ templates for inspiration:

• Maps Puzzles: Even if you know every square inch of your hometown off by heart, it’s still a fun idea to turn a map of your area into a puzzle. By the time you’re done, you’ll definitely know every nook and cranny of your locality like the back of your hand!
• Proposal Puzzles: There’s no sweeter way to tell someone they complete you than with a proposal puzzle. Inscribe your message on the puzzle, scramble the picture and have your boyfriend or girlfriend put it together. Watch out for the look on their face as they slowly realize what’s happening; you’ll be down on one knee, but not necessarily looking for a missing corner piece...
• Christmas Puzzles: Start a new holiday tradition, and turn a family photo every year into a puzzle that you work on, well, as a family! Then you can keep the finished product as a memento.
