Nonbinary, sometime shortened to NBY to N.B., is a gender identity that describes an individual whose gender does not strictly fall within the binary genders, that is, male and female. Some may be a combination of both genders, others may fall completely outside the binary. Some have no gender at all. Non-binary falls under the transgender umbrella, although not all nonbinary individuals identify as such.
