Delaware Breakwater East End Light Postcard
In 1884, a light was commissioned for the east end of the Delaware Breakwater. It built to replace the deteriorating Cape Henlopen Beacon. A temporary light on a wooden frame was placed near the building site as construction began. The foundation of the tower was embedded into the breakwater. The 56' iron structure, was completed on October 2, 1885.
