Dew Drop Inn New Orleans T-Shirt
The Dew Drop in New Orleans is legendary as a location where black musicians could perform and stay at its hotel during the Jim Crow era. Notably, Ray Charles, Earl King, and James Booker lived at the Dew Drop for a time. I have recreated The Dew Drop Inn logo. This design is based on the sign that hung at 2840 LaSalle St. The original sign was for The Dew Drop Cafe. But the Dew Drop Inn was the name used by the music venue for its show posters during it's prime in the 1950s and 1960s. In the 50s and 60sThe Dew Drop was the mecca for Blues, Jazz, Early Rock & Roll and R&B in New Orleans. Everyone played there. James Brown, Tina Turner, Little Richard, Earl King, Freddie King, James Booker, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Big Joe Turner, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Gatemouth Brown to name a few. In recent years there have been efforts to revitalize this incredible site of American music history.

My 11 yo wore adult XL (5’7” 165#). The 8yo is small framed. She wore adult small and tied it in the back. Dark haired male wore adult large and 5’9”, 110# female wore adult medium . Good quality dark Heather gray, Gildan brand shirt. -it was next up from basic choice and cost about $20 per shirt. Not too thick or thin. Washed and dried well, no major shrinkage. Not see-through. Can wear a bra under it fine. Screen print is just as shown and well done, front and back.
