Double Portrait of the Oak King and Holly King Holiday Card
Here is a card you can leave on the mantelpiece all year long. It features my illustration of the Wiccan account of the bi-annual battle between the Oak King and Holly King.
Each King rules six months of the year, changing sway at the Summer and Winter Solstices. I designed this piece like a playing card so that each King would be face up for their reign on the Wheel of the Year.
In this orientation of the card, the Oak King is face up. His victory heralds the return of the Sun, days getting longer and the earth getting warmer.
