Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, at Dusk Postcard

Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, at Dusk Postcard

"Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, at Dusk" by Catherine Sherman Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is illuminated with many colorful lights as dusk arrives. On the left is the iconic Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in downtown. Behind the center are the pylons of Bartle Hall and the gold dome of the Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. In the center is Webster House with bell tower, now the headquarters of the Kansas City Symphony. The Webster School with Romanesque-style architecture, opened in 1886 and served the Kansas City School District for 45 years. Then it became a restaurant and a store with antiques and art for many years. The Webster School was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1982. Another building on the skyline is the historic Power & Light Building, which was built in 1933 with many art deco elements. The tallest building is One Kansas City Place, which is an example of the modern glass office buildings constructed in downtown Kansas City in the 1980s. It is the tallest building in Missouri. Several hotel buildings are part of the skyline. In the foreground on the right, people gather in a conference room of a hotel at Crown Center.

I joined Postcrossing a few months ago and wanted postcards to represent my state well. I found them on Zazzle. I purchased numerous cards and was impressed with all of them. Excellent! The colors are beautiful. The cards have the exact look I wanted. I couldn't be happier.
