This is a time of year in Amsterdam most tourists don't see. Even the seedy part of town shortens it hours and the little rooms in the red-light district are all empty. It's pretty dreary. I passed through on my way to visit my father before he passed away otherwise it was a season I would have missed. It was cold and rainy. It was not the cheerful active place I've visited in the summer. Very few people were about and it was early morning. A great time to get my photo series Amsterdam in November.
