The Eastern Dogwood (Cornus florida), also called Flowering Dogwood is a hardy tree that grows in almost any soil but really like our acid, loamy earth in Eastern Pennsylvania. April usually brings on the flowers, and they can be seen throughout the woods - lovely when growing beside the redbud trees.
