I found this gorgeous public domain photo described as "a view of boulder step pools installed in Rock Creek, Washington, D.C. as part of a stream restoration project. The pools raise the water level and allow fish (blueback herring and alewife) to swim over a partially-submerged sewer pipe which crosses the creek." Moreau1 released his work into the public domain.
