About This Design

Edouard Manet - The Races at Longchamp Large Clock

Edouard Manet - The Races at Longchamp Large Clock

The Races at Longchamp (Les Courses à Longchamp), painted by Édouard Manet in 1866 in oil on canvas, captures the finish of a horse race at Longchamp in the Bois de Boulogne near Paris. Instead of the conventional side view, Manet sends the jockeys and horses racing directly toward the viewer through a cloud of dust, with spectators lining the course. The compressed, head-on perspective turns a fashionable Parisian sporting spectacle into an unusually immediate image of speed and modern life.

It arrived on time and in good condition and it works. Zazzle has been great to work with. I have no complaints at all. I loved that the product turned out as expected!

Great price for a very nice product. Arrived a day early - unheard of these days. The outside gold area has a little more orange tone to it than shown in the picture. Great packing so product can't get damaged. I used the same packing to forward the clock to my brother and sister-on-law for the 50th wedding anniversary. Printing was just as expected - lovely!
