The burial gold mask showed Pharaoh Tutankhamun in the form of the god Osiris ... the form all ancient pharaohs took in death. In life the form they took was the god Horus, the son of Osiris and Isis who were brother and sister. Thus, the pharaohs often actually married their own sisters in order to preserve the power of their bloodline as well as to mimic the legends of the gods.
