Eleonora Di Toledo Fabric

This is a reproduction of the fabric of the dress which Eleonora Di Toledo wore in the famous portrait. It's a marvelous example of Italian, Tudor / late Renaissance fabric design. The actual fabric was 'voided' velvet, a fabric which has a satin background with velvet designs on it. Since that particular type of fabric is basically unobtainable nowadays - there's, to my knowledge, only one company in the world that still weaves this type of fabric, at a whooping cost of $500+ per yard - this "just" printed fabric may be a good alternative if you're "just" after the look and don't need the authentic material. The fabric is printed at the approximate size of the original fabric and the height repeat is 36 inches. This particular version is a 'mock velvet and golden design'; it imitates the velvet (with tiny 'hairs' in the print) as well as the golden parts of the fabric with rows of golden loops.
