English Electric Lightning Magnet

The fastest aircaft ever to serve with the Royal Air Force was the English Electric Lightning. The legendary Lightning powered by the awesom thrust of two vertically stacked afterburning Rolls Royce Avons was famous for its airdispley party trick of taking of then going vertical at the end of the runway then screaming out to mach speed. Fast and furious but very short lived, maxium speed just in time to run out of fuel. This cold war warrior is one of the iconic post war British aircraft. This magnet is a variation of the classic British low flying aircraft sign seen so often round airports and airfields but instead of the stylized passenger aircaft silhouette it has the cropped delat of the flying drainpipe.
