Epupa Falls Namibia Shot Glass

Epupa Falls is a spectacular series of cascading waterfalls along the Kunene River on the border between Namibia and Angola. Surrounded by wild baobab trees, fig trees, and makalani palms, the falls drop into a deep gorge, creating a stunning oasis in the middle of the arid, rugged Kaokoland landscape. It is a vital and sacred region for the semi-nomadic Himba people who inhabit the area. The word 'Epupa' translates to 'falling water' or 'foam' in the Herero language, a nod to the mist and spray generated as the river plunges over a 1.5-kilometer-wide stretch of rocky cliffs.
