Emily Post (1871 ~ 1960) said "Nothing is less important than which fork you use. Etiquette is the science of living. It embraces everything. It is ethics. It is honor." So we decided to take an irreverent jaunt into etiquette-crashing! Emily Post, however, had a far-reaching effect on society, manners, and etiquette. She wrote in various styles, including humorous travel books, early in her career. In 1922 her book, Etiquette in Society, in Business, in Politics, and at Home (frequently referenced as Etiquette) became a best seller, and updated versions continued to be popular for decades. After 1931, Post spoke on radio programs and wrote a column on good taste for the Bell Syndicate; it appeared daily in some 200 newspapers after 1932. Ann Landers and the original Dear Abby were twin sisters. They started out as very close siblings, both attending the same college, and getting married at the same ceremony. But, due to their chosen careers, they developed a hostility towards once another that lasted for many years. They wrote for opposing newspapers, and had pretty opposite writing styles.
