Fabric - Rainbow Madras
There are many of you that won't be familiar with the term "madras" but it was all the rage during the 60's and maybe into the 70's. Madras fabrics, back then, were known for their fading and bleeding properties. In fact, part of the "fun" of owning any Madras clothing was to see how fast the colors would run or bleed or fade into one another or out altogether. Though many Madras fabrics were of fairly staid or conservative colors, the 60's were (to some degree) a time of color explosion -- with hot pinks, neon oranges, "shocking" purples and day-glow greens "hitting the scene". Though these colors won't offer those same fading, Madras properties, this wonderful, computer-generated plaid is a nod to that "psychedelic" time and the fabric we were overjoyed to see fade and run. If you look closely at the design, you can see the slightest illusion of a ribbon-y texture, not unlike the original Madras fabrics. Though this fabric is NOT the original Madras and will lack that fabric's bleeding properties, it is a beautiful representation of that time and is a terrific choice for those talented seamstresses and tailors, whether creating items of clothing or for home decor or crafts.

The sample image online does not do the fabric justice. When I received it in the mail and unfolded the fabric I was astounded at the beauty of this pattern. I made a corset with just the front panels with the fabric everything else was black and I got to say I love my new corset.
I have plenty of fabric to make a couple small pouches but whatever else small accessories I want to make. I'm pretty sure I might be buying more of this traffic later.
