We can also see a wooden pole with a crucifix of Jesus Christ, alongside a miniature statute of Mother Mary. Gustav Klimt began exploring religious themes during the end of his career, perhaps inspired by the pain he felt due to the sudden deaths of his father and brother. This attractive artwork is, however, brimming with the joys of life.
