We had two mandrels, seventy-five pieces of spanish cane “arundo donax”, five gouges, a box full of bridles, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored waxed and dry threads...Also, a beeswax block, some brass tubes, sand paper, a binding machine, and sanding blocks. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into serious reedmaking, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.
