Ferocious Armstrong Scottish Border Clan Castle Jigsaw Puzzle

The Armstrong family / clan of the border area between Scotland and England were known for their strength and derring do. The family was headquartered at Gilnockie, located between Canonbie and Langholm, Dumfriesshire, and adjacent to the Border Esk. For five centuries, family members were recruited because of their strength and held allegiance to no one, raiding, plundering and pillaging on both sides of the border. This painting, "Gilnockie Tower in 1530, Dumfriesshire" is by Henry Hetherington Emmerson (Museum: National Trust). Another features the feared group known as "Border Reivers" which included additional families who ruled the borders. In keeping with ClanCastles mission to offer items of Scottish Clans and their identified homes and castles, "Armstrong Clan" prints at the top, but in a gray font intended to be unobtrusive.
