With the exceedingly arid and warm weather of the past three months, late-summer fruits like this fist-sized fig are maturing much earlier than usual. The label on the tree said Brown Turkey figs, but the skin colour remained a shiny dark green. I'm guessing Desert King.

This was such a hit! My brother was really excited to get it. The only thing he said was it was short -but he's 6'3" so it's hard for him to find ties that are long enough for him. Luckily, my other brother (who is the same height) managed to tie his tie so it fit, so he gave it to him. They both remarked on how much they like the ties and the material. Beautiful!
