Floating Line Hanabishi Postcard

[Fusen Hanabishi] Hanabishi-mon. This morning (2015.11.18) NHK morning drama "Asaga ga Kuru" (Morning Drama), Asanoya's wife, I tried to draw this floating-line Hanabishi on the curtain near the eaves of the house, which was right next to the house of Kanoya, where Asanoya was married. In the crest, butterflies in a horizontally symmetric and flat state are called fusecho or floating butterfly, and the shape of which is modeled after a butterfly with a hanabishi is called floating hanabishi. Ukisen-aya is a Ukiyo-ori twill woven with the thread of Ori-mon floating. Only floating twill does not mean a specific pattern. However, in later years, as butterfly twill became widely practiced, the word 'floating twill' came to be used to refer to a butterfly-shaped floating twill, and at last, the floating twill came to be used to be the same as that of Gaucho, which came to be recognized as another name.
