The students on the Juneau Icefield Research Program (JIRP) spend the summer studying the glaciers, geology, and flora of the icefield. The Juneau Icefield Research Program is a nonprofit educational foundation that teaches students about the earth sciences and in particular how they relate to the Juneau Icefield in Southeast Alaska that is inside the Tongass National Forest.
