Flying Moose Aviation de Havilland DH3-C Otter Reusable Grocery Bag
On the front, a de Havilland Canada DH3-C Otter, sporting the logo of mythical Flying Moose Aviation of Talkeetna in flight somewhere over Alaska. Text reading, "FLYING MOOSE AVIATION" and "TALKEETNA, ALASKA" also appears. Add your own additional text. On the back, a leather patch bearing Flying Moose Aviation's logo as worn by the company's bush pilots. It features a winged moose superimposed on a circle with text reading "FLYING MOOSE AVIATION," "TALKEETNA, AK" and "ESTD 1957." The Otter, originally intended to be known as the King Beaver, was conceived as a larger, more capable follow on to highly successful Beaver. The Beaver referred to by de Havilland as a “half-ton truck;” the Otter would be the “one-ton truck.” The Otter was used by the militaries of many countries and is also popular in with skydivers; it can be found in many drop zones throughout the world. I own a lot of reusable grocery bags, but this one holds its box shape and simply stands up on its own even if there is nothing in it. Its stiffer than your regular reusable bag too, and the material is water resistant. I poured water on the exterior and it didn't penetrate inside to the other side. I'm buying a couple more. Wish I knew how durable these bags were or I would have purchased a few more with my initial order. I also like how it folds and buttons up when not in use, making it easy to put into a handbag or luggage. I haven't used this bag yet, as I purchased it for travel use, like when you're at the airport and need to small sturdy bag to place any airport purchases in, like food, souvenirs etc. I can tell you when you first see this bag, it looks very cheap, but after closer inspection of the material and the seams its a very sturdy reusable bag. I tested it out by putting some really heavy objects inside and I could not observe any stress to the bag at all. Another thing I like about it, is the fact the medium size that this is makes it easy to just carry it in your hand without the bottom of the bag scraping the ground, like most other bags do when you're short. That alone, deserves 5 stars. I just wish there were more colors to choose from! The PDX Airport Carpet printing looks just like the photo, and using this bag during travel might be a conversation piece when/if a native from Oregon happens to see it.
