Forest Romance - Tote Bag

Among the many delights of the Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia are the ever-graceful fern trees. The arching fronds add delicate, light-filled canopies to the landscape and make one feel like they are back at the dawn of creation. The tree fern that features in this artwork was located alongside a walking path at the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens in Sherbrooke (one of my most favorite spots on earth so far). The dappled light and glowing leaves of the nearby trees caught my eye. It felt at that moment as though Heaven itself was wooing me. I photographed the scene and soon after produced this watercolour painting based on the shot. To capture the feeling of that moment at the Gardens I named the work 'Forest Romance'.
