Fourteen Hippos Marching Pet Food Bowl

The 14 Marching Hippos are some of the whimsical creatures who visit or inhabit my studio. They are thrilled to be on this pet bowl in duplicate. They are cousins, and they are part of a family of small hippos that thrives in museums and in charming interior spaces. They are most often found on shelves, and they particularly like the ones with mirrored backing and lights. From left to right, they are Big Yellow Hippo, Lotsa Dots Hippo, Hippo Green, Tiny Stained Glass Hippo, Half Moon Hippo, Brick Hippo, and Hippo Star. Their march is sponsored by the Small Friends Research Institute (http://www.susangainen-nanoscapes-smallfriends.com/blog/introducing-the-small-friends-research-institute/) which was established to identify heretofore unknown species and to tell their stories. They sometimes agree to march in weddings and birthday celebrations, but they are very fussy about their dressing rooms.
