Just a few years back, Atherton was the second most expenisve place to live in the US. It's a tiny little town about 30 minutes south of San Francisco. It has its own police department whose primary responsibility it is to keep an extra set of keys when homeowners get locked out. Its residents are typically exceedingly wealthy and insecure. Which is why the police department regularly gets calls reporting "suspicious vehicles" (anything with a scratch or dent), "suspicion persons" (often gardeners or garbage men), and "suspicious noises" (neighbor's annoying dog). the more you have, the smaller your world.
