The moon is the only other body in space upon witch man has set foot, the first occurance of which took place in 1969 by American astronaut Neil Armstrong on the Apollo 11 NASA mission. The moon's cultural significnce cannot be overstated, playing a part in the mythology and folklore of every human society ever recorded.
