Funny Crown-of-Thorns Starfish with a smirk Towel

This multiple-armed Crown-of-Thorns Sea Star is one of the largest in the world. It is covered with venomous thorn-like spines and looks almost like the biblical crown of thorns. This unusual garish colours combination is a warning coloration. This one has a funny looking face with a little smirk and pointed teeth. There is a fish in its popular name, but in fact it is not really a fish but a star-shaped echinoderm - a group of marine animals recognised by their (usually five-point) radial symmetry. Did you know that the oldest starfish fossil are dating back to around 450 million years ago? Yes, these remarkable sea organisms lived very long before us, so let's keep their habitat clean.
