Funny Vintage VITAMIN DONUTS Advertisement Towel

In 1941, the Doughnut Corporation of America came out with these "Vitamin Donuts," hoping the product would earn a seal of approval from the Nutrition Division of the War Food Administration. The name was justified, so the Doughnut Corporation believed, because the donuts were made with flour fortified with thiamine (vitamin B1) which would provide "pep and vigor." Unfortunately for the Doughnut Corporation of America, the WFA didn't buy this argument. Hang this cool item of war-time free enterprise in your kitchen to bring smiles to the faces of friends and family. And hey, who wouldn't want a dose of vitamin D(onut) for breakfast?!
