Futaba-aoi Silver Finish Lapel Pin
The Aoi crest is a crest that is modeled after the leaves or leaves and flowers of the aoi. Aoi is a plant that belongs to the family Aristolochiaceae, and is either Asarum caulescens or Asarum nipponicum, with the scientific name Asarum Caulescens Maxim. Although the character 'aoi' has been used since ancient times, this character was actually used for plants belonging to the family Malvaceae, such as Althaea rosea, and the family Geraniaceae, such as Geranium nepalense. The small aoi used as a clothing pattern during the Fujiwara period was modeled after these types of plants. Because this character was used early on, it became a preconception and was also used as a substitute for Asarum caulescens, and eventually the two were confused ("Japanese Crests").

To do again, I would order the JEB Stuart in the small round style. That is just my personal preference. Also, I like the Forrest pin with the Confederate National Flag background since he fought in the army of Tennessee. However, I would prefer the Confederate Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia as the backdrop for the Stuart lapel pin ... as you well know, Stuart commanded the cavalry arm of the Army of Northern Virginia and fought under the Southern Cross or Cross of Saint Andrew. Karl Brauneis, Lander, Wyoming. Excellent - very clear and bold. +
