Artist: George Catlin - Portraits of a Grizzly Bear and Mouse. Oil painting. 1846-1848. Painting shows a grizzly's enormous head and front paws lowered to the ground to check out a defiant little mouse. The relative dimensions are purportedly correct, as the artist painted the original canvas to be "life size" for both animals.
