Gold Mask of Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun Tripod Lamp
Gold Mask of Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun ... following is from Wikipedia ... Tutankhamun (/ˌtuːtənkɑːˈmuːn/, Ancient Egyptian: twt-ꜥnḫ-jmn), Egyptological pronunciation Tutankhamen (British /ˌtuːtənkɑːˈmən/),[6] (c. 1342 – c. 1325 BC) was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who was the last of his royal family to rule during the end of the 18th dynasty (ruled c. 1334 – 1325 BC in the conventional chronology) during the New Kingdom of Egyptian history.
The tomb was discovered near end of 1922. The Gold Mask was not found until late in 1925. This delay was because the the tomb chamber was filled almost entirely with nested containers containing the nested coffins making getting to and opening the innermost pure gold coffin very difficult.
Tutankhamun became Pharaoh at about his age 9 - 10 and ruled 9 years to his age about 18 or 19.
Just the gold content of the mask has a value over half a million US dollars as I write this. It has pure gold, lapis lazuli, and ancient Egyptian blue glass.
This gold mask was made more than some 3,344 or 3,345 years ago! The blue glass was made to match the color of the lapis lazuli ... can you imagine they had the skills to make blue glass back then ... making it from desert sand that they had to heat to melt the sand into glass ... to at least a temperature of 3,090 degrees F! The blue stripes in the nemes headcloth are blue glass. The eyeliner, brows, and beard are lapis lazuli.
Commonly he has been called King Tut.
